“I miss being in creative spaces with other people. A sense of intimacy is lost between my screen and yours. I want to feel us together. Let’s
create a traveling exhibition...” (Collective_View)
Private View is a traveling exhibition, conceived by COLLECTIVE_VIEW.The exhibition lives and travels between the homes of each participant. The transfer of art from person to person, and from place to place illustrates the intimacy between us. Bringing the art into our homes allows us to physically connect during a time of social distancing. The exhibition cumulatively grows as we encounter it. It is a living exhibition made up of our relationships as well as our view of the world today. It tells multiple stories, beliefs, questions, and hopes within one logistical framework.
The exhibition is made accessible to the public as it travels through Social Media. It is posted, reposted and shared among the Instagram accounts of its participating artists and curators. Consequently, these private views cut through limitations of physical distance and reach into the public sphere.
The exhibition Private View includes female identifying artists, curators, and writers who have been engaged in conversations around art and labor, arts administration, art practice, and critical discourse.
